Out here in the upcountry, there is space to slow down and notice the people, nature and stories that shape this part of The Gambia.
Around Janjanbureh, a boat trip with a local guide may bring chances to see hippos, crocodiles, monkeys, birds or chimpanzees in the wider river region. The wildlife is free to move, so every visit is different.
The days are about peaceful rhythms and the beauty of the area. In the evening, our rooftop is a lovely place to watch the sun go down and the stars come out.
